Here are new rules we will use starting with Roadkill 2009:
1. Players MAY touch the post, ropes and the net outside the antenna provided they don't interfere with play, as in hinder an opponent from making a play on the ball.
2. Players may NOT contact the top tape of the net. If they do, this is a blocking fault/ or attacking fault.
3. Contacting the net in other circumstances is not a fault. Blockers who hit the lower portion of the net, attackers who follow through on the attack and hit the lower portion of the net do not commit a net fault unless they prevent an opponent from making a play on the ball or affect the integrity of the net (pull it down, raise it up so the ball can/can't make it over for example) or creates an advantage. A middle hitter running a fake who contacts the top of the net does not commit a fault since he is not playing the ball.
4. Players may cross the center line and touch the opponent's playing space provided that a foot/feet stay on or above the center line (No change there) What is new is this: Any body part above the foot can cross the center line provided that the foot/feet remain on or above the center line, and that the encroachment does not present a hazard or interferes with the opponents ability to play the ball.
5. The libero must sit out until a there is a completed rally. A yellow card/penalty point does not constitute a rally.
6. Late libero replacements are sanctioned with a team delay warning
